Please Play! Pay it Forward - A Gift!

I discovered today that I am the very lucky recipient of a lovely necklace created by a talented blogging buddy, Corey, at Art With Moxie. This piece was offered as a "Pay it Forward" gift raffle.

I now have the pleasure of passing the kindness along to one of you out there by offering something that was created by me. All you have to do is leave a comment to this post between today and Monday August 18th and agree that you will  "pay it forward" by creating something with your own hand - jewelry, collage, etc. and give it away. Oh.. and here is the necklace you will win if your name is drawn!

I hope you will all play!

Gift from the sea...

Not much makes me happier than time spent at the beach - and today I was able to combine that love with a new creation.

~ Heirloom crystals combined with antique Victorian love tokens ~

I love creating jewelry with elements that have such a personal history. It  makes me wonder who carried these tokens of affection in their vest pocket...

Love Tokens

My past few days have been spent creating several necklaces, some of which were fashioned using antique Victorian love tokens. These tokens were engraved with names, intials, dates and sentiments on small coins. Some were hung on chains and others were just kept in a pocket as tokens of affection and remembrance.

This and other necklaces are now in my Etsy shop for anyone who would like to take a peek!

Charmed, I'm Sure!

Just completed my charms for a group charm bracelet collaborative. The first ones were created using clear glass tube beads, copper wire wrap and words partitially hidden by the wire...

The second set was created with silver wire wrapped once diagonally around a lovely pink swirled glass bead.

Antique with a twist...

                 Necklace_1_2

                Necklace_1a

I have long been a collector of unusual antique jewelry pieces and love when I find lockets and charms with old photographs. This old mourning (or remembrance) charm still retains a faded photograph of a lovely woman. I have combined the charm with a patinaed toggle clasp necklace, leaf, little aged disc danglies, 2 olivine Czech glass pearls and wonderful fire polish crystal (all wrapped with sterling silver wire) to make a piece of old/new "mixed-media" artwork to wear...
