Today was the day I had decided to pack away my art supplies... life has been overwhelming at times lately with little desire to create. But at the last minute I had a brief moment of - I don't really know what to call it - maybe inspiration. Not my usual style, but definitely from the heart...
8x8 watercolor and ink

I really like this piece. It speaks to me.:)

I only just found your blog via Pam Carriker's flickr group. This page is absolutely stunning as is your other artwork. I don't know what your pain was/is about, but I hope it will not stop you creating!!

I think that the creative side of you needs release too--maybe that is what caused your burst of inspiration. The art is lovely and shows that fragile place inside that is needing to heal. I can imagine you are still full of grief and sadness, who wouldn't be? Take the time you need-the space you need.

This is wonderful! I would definitely say that it is inspired - maybe there's a reason it isn't your usual style - perhaps a new path?
I hold YOU in my heart as you take some much needed time for yourself.
Whatever your path, I hold you dear.

Only inspiration makes you paint, when you are ready to pack it away. I love her contemplative look... and your little birdie, too!

Oh this piece really shows your heart is still full of inspiration...you have an artists need to create. Even though you are hurting and the ideas just aren't "flowing" right now, just hang in there and hold on. Let what you're holding onto out little by little and express it ...no matter what style familiar or not, it's still a part of you....and it's beautiful.

A gentle way to say, "I'll see you all later." Rest well, Deb.

this piece is very evocative of strong sentiment and contemplation; she has an inner grace that shines through. I hope that the art supplies will be easy to unpack when you're ready because you're an excellent artist.

I find this a very moving piece Deb. I'm so happy you were inspired to create it. I love the expression on the face; it takes me to a very peaceful place.....a very accepting and protective place. Beautiful!
