Dad
August 10, 1922 - October 2, 2008
"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."
Khalil Gibran

Dear Deb

Oh my dear friend-
I am so very sorry for your loss. There is nothing I can say to take away the grief you must feel, but please know I understand and I am holding you close in my heart. Your Mom and Dad are together now. He needed to be with her I suppose.

I'm very sorry about your loss. You chose a wonderful photo and a meaningful poem as a tribute to your dad. No matter when it happens, we feel like orphans when we lose our parents; but you are not alone.

Deb, I'm so sorry. What a great photo of your dad. He was one handsome man.
I'd never read those words from Khalil Gibran. I think that's the most beautiful thing I've ever read about death. Thank you for sharing it.
I'll be thinking and praying for you and your family.
