What Makes You Happy?

           Birchforest

My challenge to you this beautiful morning... sit down and write out a list of things that make you happy. My list began slowly and I felt a huge knot in my stomach that I would not make it past 10 things. But then the dam burst loose and I filled many pages in a journal I created just for listing wonderful things. Write your own list and leave a link here to share a little piece of yourself. Here is a very small portion of today's list.. I hope to add to it every day.

1. big red barns

2. clean white sheets

3. outdoor cafes

4. kids drawings on the refrigerator

5. the smell of burning leaves

6. working past your fears

7. drive-ins with trays hooked on the car window

8. white birches

9. kindness from a stranger

10. handwritten letters

11. breakfast when camping

12. saying yes

13. wanderlust

14. sharp shadows in the afternoon

15. The Velveteen Rabbit

16. losing time while doing something you love

17. threading a needle on the first try

18. carving pumpkins

19. listening to YoYo Ma

20. those moments that go beyond words

I love this, really. I esp liked threading a needle on the first try...

Thanks again for this Deb...I just did my list and I hope to do this more often :) Blessings on your night dear lady :)

I LOVE that beautiful photo? Is that what Fall leaves look like? Nothing like that here in the desert!
I really enjoyed your "happy" list as well.

Such a lovely list and a great idea! The photo is stunning.

I love this post - all beautifully stated.
I hope this finds you well today.

this challenge actually made me get a cute, empty journal off the bookshelf. it was a gift from my sister and I just am not very good at journaling! not consistent at all! I did write two full pages of things that make me happy! thanks...I am going to use some of them as ideas for a couple of canvas collages!

What a great idea for a page! I will think tomorrow morning of my list, thanks for the idea. HUGS

how wonderful deb! and i like the idea of the list continuing and being added on to---i will try this. :)

What a wonderful list to make - magnificent photo too.

beautiful picture-s in your blog
very very pleasing thanks for sharing.

Oh my eyes were filling with tears just reading your list! I have to thank you for this really inspiring post...I'm gonna work on my list today and let you know when I post mine....Thank you Deb :)

What a wonderful exercise!!! I will try it for sure! I love Yo Yo Ma too!!--I met him when I studied at Tanglewood--what a wonderful, humble person. I play flute, but wish it had been cello--nothing quite like the rich, velvety mysterious sound of the cello.

Hope you are well!

How about coming home from camping and sleeping in your own cozy bed again? :-)

Great list. Some things you take for granted are so wonderful.

What a fun exercise! I was at a loss of where to start, and then I started reading your list. And what I noticed is that it's the "little things" that make one happy. This is a good exercise for everyone to try.

Oh this is so wonderful and charming I will definitely take this challenge.
